Odd, however, that the Louvre page mentions the tulips and hyacinths but not the papyrus flowers. I wonder if that points to it being made in Ottoman Egypt or rather, since they say 'Turkey', by an Egyptian taken to Turkey after its conquest by the Ottomans. Anyway, an extraordinary piece.
