The starting point for this collage was a page from a Portuguese book cover from 1940, using its yellowed pages and part of the book cover with its long-lost typography. The collage also features parts of a groovy Javea shopping bag as well paper cuts from Shelley's abstract watercolour work.
ORIGINAL ART WORK
These are handmade, living pieces, many with overhanging elements from the collage assembly and the pieces are mounted in a slightly raised fashion (so as to appear floating) above a white, acid-free matte. We use Museum Glass, specially coated to make the viewing of the art completely glare and reflection-free (it looks like there is no glass; all you see is the artwork), as well as being 92% UV filtering (a very important feature, due to the use of fragile, paper ephemera).
Heavyweight, white, premium matte paper which has a natural, smooth uncoated finish that feels luxurious to the touch. The 200 gsm/ 80 lb paper weight makes it durable and long-lasting.
We use FSC-certified paper or equivalent certifications depending on regional availability. It’s better for the people and the planet.
Please note: Paper sizes may vary slightly by region. For the US and Canada, the measurement is in inches, while for the rest of the world, it is in centimeters.
Although the originals vary in size, we try to find the closest print size to represent the original work, and the matte increases that size by approximately 3/4" on each side.
The white frame is made from pine, is 20-25mm /0.79"-0.98" thick and 10-14mm /0.4"-0.6" wide, providing the perfect balance of durability and style. To keep your print looking its best, we use shatterproof, transparent plexiglass to protect it from damage. Importantly, the print is ready to hang as it is delivered within the frame, using the matte paper described above. We include hanging hardware with every order, making it easy to mount in horizontal or vertical orientations.
Each poster and frame is shipped in robust packaging, ensuring it arrives in pristine condition. More shipping info can be found in the FAQ section!
