Illustration for children
Of all the work Shelley has been involved in, childrens illustration is perhaps the area she is most passionate about. She is exceptionally keen to continue the traditions of classic illustrators like Leo Lionni, P.D. Eastman, and of course the legendary Eric Carle, while bringing a fresh original approach to engage the inquisitive minds of young children by using humour, colour and joy.

In this Illustration, Shelley explores the joys of outdoor play. The ubiquitous woven fritillaria make another appearance, as does her favourite airmail sticker.

The Mad hatter's tea party
In this large double page spread, Shelley wields a pair of scissors in extraordinary detail. The image is surrounded by cut paper flowers, plants and animals. The stylized chairs have a life of their own, whilst the tea cups of every description have their own conversations.
